Ok, I don't know about the RAM, but I suggest you reduce your CPU overclock a bit - MSI 870 mobos are known for VRMs failing when overclocking. Your particular CPU should not cause any problems, but just to be sure - reduce that overclock to 3.6Ghz or something, I don't want your motherboard to fry.

shoot !

i thought that as long as the mobo has those OC physical switchs on it that means its OC friendly frown.gif

also , reading on , it seems that this mobo is not that OC friendly with 125+ W ...

MSI mobos wiht 870 chipset are not OC friendly at all, for any CPU. You can have a working OC, but at greater risk than with other mobos. That's why I said your CPU should be fine, because it is 65W stock, but still, just to be sure, let's not push it to the limit, because if pushed to the limit, this mobo will catch on fire, and nobody wants that smile.gif If you can, ensure there is at all times some air going through the VRM.

ok , well noted Boss

now am running at 3720/1920/960 with 1.45 Vcore

all seems quite and stable .. not to mention that the BIOS crashed on me and had to recover it

increasing the RAM clock will cause the bios to crash again frown.gif

Glad to hear you're stable. See if you can lower that core voltage further, and make sure there's always good airflow around the VRM, and you should be good to go thumb.gif

Good evening friend !

i just received my amd phenom II x 6 1055t ( 2.8 GHZ stock ) and guess what ! ram bus is showing 1333 as it is supposed to !

seems that the athlon XII was bottlenecking the rams mad.gif

using your guide and reading a bit on phenoms , i managed to OC it from 2.8 to 3.5 with 1.45 V as cpu voltage ( using thermal tech cooler that costed more than the cpu it self biggrin.gif ) ..
no plans to go further as you already warned me about the 870 series, and 3.5 with 6 cores is way more than enough for me now

do you think that using 4 ram chips is overloading the ram controller ?

thanks again for the very helpful tips thumb.gif

am not an overclock geek , but STOP raising the vcore voltage or you will frei something

i got mine OCed to a sweet point , and happy with it , although i can get even more juice , but i wont be taking the risk
