I have 2X 1800 RPM GTs and one 1150 rpm. The 1150 RPM (ap-13) is silent. The 1800 RPM ones (ap-15) can be heard at full speed but I find them to be essentially silent at 1400 rpm on my fan controller.

I'm going to have around 6 in mine. These fans are AWESOME. They're like Scythe S-flex E's but better

I think to get the level of silence I'm looking for, I'm going to have to replace my PSU, and run all my fans at 5V.

I'm hoping I can run my rad semi-passive. Might sound weird, but it'll be mounted on the door, with every other fan exhausting air, so I'm hoping pressure will pull the air from the only available place - through the rad.

Which fans are you running right now? You don't need to AP-13s at 5V.

I'm running Akasa Apaches. I've only got three of them, so either way I'll be buying more fans. I just wanted to know what my options are. Seeing how highly praised GTs are here, they're the first I thought of.

If you get an automatic fan controller like the Aquaero or heatmaster this would be something to try.

What kind of pump are you running? at this level of noise, it might become louder than the rest of the system.

For a silent high performance PSU, look no further than the Seasonic X series. It'll probably run fanless while idle.

To be honest, at the noise level you're looking for, I don't think you'll notice much benefit from GT's over any other high quality fan.

That thought had crossed my mind as well. For me though, GTs are a little cheaper than Noctuas and Apaches. That's the main point in their favour at this point. I think any "silent" fan at 5V will be alright for what I want.

I'm looking into the Enermax Revolution85+ series at the moment. I've heard great things from everyone I've talked to. Most of the time the fan sits at 600RPM.

I'm running a D5 Vario at the moment, though I'm thinking I might have to pick up a 355 to compensate for what I think will be a brutal radiator to my loop pressure.
