[ARS] Brink supports PC gaming with free, feature-rich standalone server - Page 3

Has anyone even seen full mulitplayer map layouts yet? 8v8 is a trash console limit for maps that are the size of a closet. Brink maps need to be big enough to support 24+ players at the very least. There last game Quake Wars supported 24.

this.

If COD can do 24 players on a map as small as nuketown then this should atleast be able to that ifnot more.

Dear god no. ANY COD map with more than 12 players is pure torture. A crappy spamfest.

That's why we need to get rid of these people on OCN that complain about player limits. Why should we allow more than 6vs6 on arena type games?

Lots of players + small map = TRASH

And don't say that we need a big map. That would completely change the style of the gameplay towards something like battlefield. No. I want arena type games because those are the most fun.

To keep quality, we MUST limit the amount of players.

as far as i can tell. It looks like the maps are like miniature bad company 2 rush maps. As in there are objectives you have to complete, and as you complete them, you push forward to a new objective, and leave the portion of the map behind you. Not as small as nuketown, but not as big as a section from a battlefield rush map. And with alot of limits to where you can go, lots of corridors and hallways that open up to a large area for a firefight to take place.

The game looks sluggish to me. Like the pacing is slower than most other games out. Anyone else feel that way?

Or build a bigger map. Odd how that works.

it is. They had to slow things down and give players more health because they are expected to use the smart system to slide under things and jump over things etc.

In order to allow players to do that, they need to be able to take plenty of hits before they die, otherwise good players will just cut the enemy down before they can do that cool vault over a bench they were trying for.

Which is also why they have a low player count, that way there is even less chance that multiple players will see them and cut them down.

The game doesnt impress me at all, but i am willing to give a demo a chance, or a friend to let me borrow it. I'm not completely negative about the game, they have some interesting ideas. I loved quake wars, but not so sure about this game.

A bigger map completely changes the style of gameplay, which is bad. I want arena games as well, not just bad company 2 clones.

no, it does, a bigger map means more players can be spread out. Allowing alternative objectives to be spaced out further and provide multiple ways of defeating a objective.

This game is not an arena game lol. This game is not trying to be unreal, or quake.
