Not my overclock - OC tuner's.

I'm thinking of going to 4.5Ghz myself. I would probably use 1.35v.

try getting familiar with the bios, overclocking in windows is not advised. You will have better results when you have better knowledge of the bios.

I've been reading up on some tutorials, and I'm beginning to get to grips with it.

OC tuner was just the easy option; plus It's not a 24/7 overclock.

I'm not sure that's "undervolting." It would have to be an awfully high VID chip.

I've had this 4.6ghz at 1.248v for months - you can probably get it lower.

And as others have said, you're better not using the aituner thing.

I can do this at 4.5g @ low vcore load, but your mileage may vary.

4500mhz1hrblend1.png

That's with HT on; I've seen some people even manage 1.2v load. Does seem like 1.3v load is the average, with 1.35v meaning you aren't going to reach 5 ghz easily. But those 1.20v 4.5giggers are usually the 1.35v 5 giggers. Mine needs something like 1.41v load if my room gets warm, otherwise I can get 1.392v instead if it's under 80F inside.

Can't take the computer down for for a 12 hour run though; would interfere with my gaming (especially since I don't sleep more than 6 hours usually).

the tests don't get very hard until the 12 hour mark.

OCCT limpack for 8 hours has always done the trick for me.

I was stable at 4.6 1.27v LLC 5.
To get up to 4.9 stable had to pump vcore to 1.4 and LLC 6. Load 1.392. Temps reaching 72C so I backed off until I get a better H2O system. Still need to convince myself that another $300 is worth it to climb to 2 - 4 muti's.

I got a similar setup as yours.. I have been running 4.5ghz @ 1.25v for about a month now and its been pretty good.. If i remember correctly i needed about 1.36v to run 4.8 ghz. you could probably get to 4.8 pretty easily too.. i just bumped my vcore up and left everything basically the same.
