P.S. you don't need to make a backup unless you plan to resell the laptop in the future and want it to come as it did when you bought it.
Thanks, that's pretty much what i did. I installed a -few- things off the CD, like their power saver function, and some intel stuff. (Also the keyboards drivers so the backlit keyboard function works.)
