Sapphire are trying to sell away old 5850 GPU's
post #3 of 10
I could possibly be affect by the new ATI 6xxx series cards, but prices all over are either high or low, on tiger u may find some for like a $120-$150. for someone who just wants a great GPU, its a buy.

Same card, but maybe lower quality, and only 1 Xfire bridge.

Well, the card is lower quality in terms of one fewer Xfire bridge and only one DVI port, but I would say they're as good if not better otherwise. They're 5850 chips on the 6850 board, so they're shorter which is nice. Also, the one I have runs very quiet and cool and I've heard the same from others.

Haven't really tried overclocking it yet though, since I'm going to wait for sapphire to support overvolting for them in the new Trixx version, but from what I've seen you can generally get 800-830 Mhz core clock and 1100-1200 Mhz memory clock out of them on the stock voltages.
