Sounds like you have plugged the pump power into the motherboard. If you have just changed from a lower to higher power pump then your mobo might have been able to supply the juice for the old one, but not the new one.

Generally speaking you do not want to plug your pump into your motherboard fan headers, they do not supply enough juice to run a pump, and you can permanently damage your board.

Use a molex line and an adapter, usually supplied with the pump.

Could you restate your post? It isn't very clear to me.

If you have the pump plugged into the mobo:
To me it sounds like your mobo doesn't feed enough power to the pump. As GingerJohn said, I would not plug a pump into a mobo. Plug it into a molex connector or a fan controller.

my pumps are powered by molex not the mb. When I trip the power to Hurst run the pumps and with the mb disconnected the pumps run fine. When I connect the mb it has power connected as the leds light up but it will not start if I use my PC on button or the start button on the mb.

Hmm...

Maybe a PSU issue...
Not quite sure though.
