Interesting I'll have to look into the G500 more!

I've yet to establish a grip style due to just getting into pc gaming. (only playing Diablo II eastern sun right now)

Where might I find one of these used?....

Look into the puretrak valour, same sensor as the death adders but less lift off and free puretrak talent if you pre order it, and 10% off with preval10 discount code. The valor is like 60$ too.
If you want a laser mouse i'd say the g500.
Thanks for the coupon code!....First i've heard of this mouse i'll have to look into it. So the liftoff problem is worth $10 more?

Ok so the valor is looking pretty recommended. Better than a used g9 if i can find it for the same price?

However does that it suffers angle prediction. You can not turn it off and there is no fix for it.

It is a perfectly fine mouse but can get fickle-ly with fps, but the same applies for g500's negative acceleration.
I see the thank you for the representations. Now the mx518's price is really a selling point in all of this.

+rep to everybody

Why would someone choose laser over optical. I see the infrared optical of the deathadder, valor, seems recommended more?

EDIT: It's not letting me rep everybody ***!? I'm going to keep trying sorry to all that were so helpful

huh? I dunno about that since I seem to have no problem in all the games I play with snapping to an enemy and destroying them, the only games that a bit of a bugger are games that force vsync.
Then again im using this at 1000reports and using the logitech drivers that are current.

Also... It seems as though they been phased out almost completely, only place to find a good deal on one might be ebay

g500 is has a good laser sensor in it but it suffers from positive accel, and negative accel on some mousepads.

for 10$ more you get a 25$ mousepad(if you pre order), that to me makes it worth it and i hate the stupidly high lift off of the deathadder.
the G9 is not worth it unless it's around 20$ imo, there's nothing special about it these days, it's an old mouse with an older sensor. I'm not a fan of laser, they've always been more picky about mousepads and acceleration issues too.

Polling rate and drivers doesn't fix the fact that the sensor isn't that good.

edit: the perfect control on the valor is about 3.9m/s and a malfunction of about 4.4m/s which is a heck of a lot better then 1.67 and 2

read the edit.
The perfect control rate represents how fast the sensor is able to track without being subjected to producing negative acceleration. The malfunction rate is where the sensor will stop dead in it's tracks and completely cut off tracking. Out of the two, the perfect control rate is the most important factor. Anything over 2.00 m/s is typically considered good, although other problems may persist.

I think some of the things people are mentioning are really above and beyond anything you would be concerned with, given the type of games you play. If you are interested in the G500 though, maybe you want to check out a review I wrote on it. You can find it in the link.

Just curious..where do i find the deal with the mousepad included with that discount code you gave earlier. I like your opinions, I'm heavily leaning on going that route.

Thanks to everybody so much!

It's just a pre order bonus you buy the mouse and they'll ship you a talent when the mouse ships. so don't go and add the talent to your cart, or you'll get 2 of them, 1 which you paid for.

right from puretrak:
Did we mention that if you preorder the all-new PureTrak Valor, you'll receive a Talent mouse pad FREE with your purchase? Woops, guess we left that out !

So this sounds like, at low dpi if I move fast it wont see it.
But what about a high DPI which I have it set to 90% of the time?
2000dpi
