trying to scare him with what? Its the truth and did I say xp is better or don't go to 7? No I told him what drivers to worry about when going to 7. What r u on about

well you said 7 is bloated and not faster than xp how ever i saw benchmarks with lower time and several fps increased compared to xp. Thats my gripe now as far as being bloated that opinion based i think it uses more ram but, thats what makes it so damn snappy i remember i if pressed the windows button it would take it a minute to to go to the desktop it takes single second in seven and several to get back in game.
At least you didn't say sound cards are dead lol.

I'm not going to have a xp windows 7 thing but xp is faster and 7 is a bit bloated. Not like vista but there is a bit 1 or junk things packaged with it that we don't need. For the sound card thing they're not useless but what is they're use I want to ask? for cans yes you need them but although theres open al is there any games that make use of hardware acceleration when the sound engine is incorporated into the game which comes means they use their own Codecs which means in turn any processing done is software and the card just do the conversion. Bc2 is a game and people seem to use it how wonderfully their sound experience improved buying the new Titanium or the STX which is the wonder of marketing BS. Let people believe a thing and they will start hearing things. bc2 a fine example of that. Read this. This is the guy who designed the sound of bc2.

Is there any proof that hardware acceleration is being used? Creatives drivers don't seem to be so buggy anymore wonder why?

Now I have a very dumb question. My full retail windows 7, came today from a hardware shop.
There are two cd's:

-64bit software
-32bit software

Does that just means I can chose betwen 32/64bit windows 7? or does it mean like example the 64bit cd is only meant for software made for 64bit?

Sorry for the dumb question

Yes, Windows 7 Retail package comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Operating System, so it's easier for the user to decide, instead of having to pay Microsoft to ship the other version on a DVD like they did with Windows Vista.

You should install the 64-bit version, it works with both 32-bit and 64-bit software. The 32-bit version only works with 32-bit software.

But apparently you already have the 64-bit in your signature. So... that's all you need.

you know what your right xp is faster but, i say at certain things or at most, most thing not all thing and not by a huge amount if an original athlon 2600+ can aero and flash super fin with only 1gb it can't be by whole lot, the same systems now runs xp just we bit snappier though boot up is about the same but, when you open a menu, it was open half second before you clicked if you get what i mean.

Guess what windows 98se is faster than xp and guess what else windows 3.11 was faster than 98se and does 6.22 is faster than windows 3.11. So yes you are correct the real question sure it might be slower but, whats the trades off. I still use 98 on my laptop with NT APIs installed so it' till use full for more than old school games so my question wasn't meant to be smart allicy.

as far as the sound bit you still benefit from high quality sound card with music and movies they use codecs. I know thats all i really want my D1 for.
