very frustrated with slow startup on Samsung LCD

Thread Starter
my TV takes 6-7 seconds to start. this is obviously not normal so i looked it up on the internet and apparently Samsung TVs have a lot of issues with slow startup. its caused by a damaged capacitor in the power supply. long story short, i called samsung and the technician came to repair the tv today. i wasnt home so my bro was talking to the technician. he said its normal and its slow because its a big tv + there arent any problems with this model. when i heard this i said its absolutely BS. tv model : LN55C610 . what do you guys think?

there have been many cases where the startup times increased over time to up to 5 minutes. i know someone that has a 52 inch Sony bravia and it starts in 1 second and its over 1 year old....

It's a different TV. I've had some that take a minute, and some that come on instantly. 6 seconds seems normal. You can't compare different TVs.

Obviously if it was 5 minutes, then that would be a problem.

7 seconds? Whaaaah. Cry more please. Actually, cry about something that actually matters. My Samsung takes at least 7 seconds to turn on. Image quality is absolutely gorgeous... it's worth the wait.

My C630 takes ~7 seconds to power on. Bought new day after christmas. I don't see a problem here.
