Hexacore help picking which one

Thread Starter
Hello all this is my second post here. Forgive me if I posted this in the wrong place but my main question is about the processor. First I will list my intentions. - Building a 6 core mainly for multi tasking. I do mainly photoshop graphics , video, photography, and a bit of gaming. I have a core duo oc @ 3.2 ghz right now with 8gb of ram and it's just not keeping up with my workflow anymore. So now down to business.
My original intention was the 1100T (goal to Oc to about 4.0ghz) But reading Oc guides everyone is saying u get better results with the 1090 which is good cause its cheaper. So should I just get the 1090?
My setup is kinda stuck between 2 of everything.
1100T or 1090?
Motherboard Gigabyte -GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 890GX 0r GA-880GM-UD2H
the only thing I see different about these 2 are the northbridge speeds. (not saying there isnt more just what I noticed)
Finally Ram - ddr3 1333 or ddr3 1600 Corsair Vengeance series I was leaning toward.
this one im really torn with. amd supports 1333 and most Oc ive seen were using 1333 . But 1600 is faster and the Mb supports it.

Now I just built a rig for a friend. phenomII x4 840 biostar Mb and 4 gb of 1600 ram and I thought this thing was lightning! But after playing a bit on it running multiple power hunger programs like photoshop and Dreamweaver i noticed a bit of lag. Nothing a little oc wont fix probably. But I don't build new rigs for myself too often so I would like to be still set up pretty good 5-6 years from now with this rig so I'm going with the hexacore.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated from anyone! and Thank You in advance!!!
P.S. I have posted this on 2 different forums now and have nothing but intel fanboys telling me to switch to the I7 If you don't have any opinions on the products I listed please don't waist everyone's time. I have had nothing but intel for 15 years now and want to try something different. I have built 6-7 Amd rigs for customers this past year or so and am very impressed with the performance to price ratio. I already know the new 8 core processors and Mb will be coming out shortly and don't have it in my budget for it. I have a limited time offer to get a employee discount at Mc to buy this stuff so I'm trying to make a decision fast. Sorry if this sounds rude but I'm set on the hexacore. I just want opinions on what I think is a good setup. For the Mb I am leaning toward Gigabyte because they seem to offer the best options for the price range. I have a great cooling setup running a full HAF tower with 9 fans and partial water cooling so no need for someone to put there 2 cents in about that either.

sorry tldr...

if you want the most powerful desktop hexacore processor available than go with the 990x...

something more value/price is the 970

if you want amd... go with the 1090T... the 1100T doesn't really give much of any performance boost and the extra price really isn't justified imo.

If you go amd just overclock it to 4.0ghz and it will be ok.... if you go with intel overclock to atleast 4.2+

if you want Intel hexcore, it is ~$800-1000
or AMD it is ~$250 - 300
just for the CPU. Join the Green side lol ( I think its green for AMD, right?)

Well the Intel as i said above isn't even a option. I just wanted to confirm that it would be a waist of $$ to buy the 1100 over the 1090. Any advice on Mb? And I can't afford the Crosshair IV . So if any recommendations other than what I listed please consider similar price and options.

If you are going to overclock I would get the 1055t... I overclocked mine to 4.0GHz and use the PC all the time... I also overclocked my buddies 1055t to 4...

You can find these in the $140 range on ebay.

Just my $0.02

for easy overclocking, get the 1090t. It is a waste of money, because you can oc the 1090t to 1100t rates.

Heck... you can go far beyond that LOL.

As long as you get the black edition (which means its multipliers are unlocked (a nice way to overclock it)) then you're set. I roll with the 1090t and have it at 4.100ghz. All day every day. Only cost me 200.

1100T costs more and is not worth it over 1090T
1600Mhz RAM costs the same most of the time, get 1600Mhz RAM, esp. if you will OC w/bus clock

for roughly same price shipped as a Gigabyte 890GPA offers 8+2 VRM and AM3+ support

Your link didn't work. But I think you were referring to a Asus board? Now looking at your setup your using a gigabyte board with the hexacor So why should I go with Asus instead? Is there something you didnt like about the MB?
