G930 or ....

Thread Starter
Looking to get into a more audiophile style setup. I currently use my G930s for gaming, and I will admit, I love them. But music is kinda lacking. Been searching around on newegg and found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132018. Has anyone had any experience with these? I am currently using a Creative X-Fi Titanium sound card with a set of Logitech X-540's hooked up to it. Needless to say, while it sounds nice, I don't use it that much out of respect for others in the household (and neighbors since they do pack quite a bit of punch...TONS of complaints back at my old place when I held parties lol) and I think I will just hook it up to my HTPC instead. I've also looked into Audio Technica ATH-A700 hooked up with ASUS Xonar Essence ST. Ideally I would like to keep a budget of $300ish. But I wont loose much sleep if I go a little bit over (looking at about $350ish after tax with the ASUS and A700 setup).

Also, I mostly listen to heavy metal/rock music with a lot of bass (therefore closed headphones for bass correct? I am new to the audiophile scene). But I still would like to use them for gaming as well. Mostly playing BFBC, BOPs, etc....loud games lol.

So, in short. Stick with my G930's which I admit work great, but don't have that special "something". Or upgrade to a new soundcard and make the move to audiophile headphones?

Have at it ladies and gents.

I too have the G930 and I LOVE mine. I wouldn't upgrade but that is my own personal opinion. If you are really into having absolute amazing quality in music, I suppose I would upgrade. As for me, I would stick with what you got.
