I keep getting this weird 10-15 second freezes time to time. The system just locks up and doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard input. The screen also freezes and if there was music playing it would turn into screeching noise. Mainly happens when I am accessing a usb hard disk / external drive. For example, using Windows Backup to backup onto an external drive, JDownloader downloading to the same external drive etc.

So far I know it could be:
- Internal Hard Drives
- External Hard Drive
- Bad Drivers
- Bad Motherboard
- Other bad components
- Windows 7 USB Bug. (solved by KB2265716 however, it doesn't let me install it - not applicable to your computer).

I have already done a windows clean install, using stock windows 7 drivers besides ATI CCC 11.3 and Intel Ethernet Driver. It happened before as well, and that's why I clean install. Sometimes it only locks up for 1-2 seconds. But now its getting longer and longer.

I have warranty on all parts, RMA is possible but I don't want to go there. I also have the latest updates for everything. Using Sig Rig and B3 Rev. Board. What can I do to fix this?

Summary of what I have done that doesn't work:
- Clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64
- Used only stock drivers
- Memtest the ram several times, even increased voltage from 1.65v to 1.675v @ 1600MHz 9-9-9-24. Also ran the tests at stock settings of 1066MHz and 1333MHz of 1.5v (PASS, no errors)
- Cleared BIOS and updated to latest one too. Cleared again several times.
- Changed SATA type from ACHI to IDE
- Changed SATA cables, tried all SATA Ports on board.
- Run Heaven Benchmark ... Smooth, runs for hours.
- Run Prime95 - PASS, ran Small FFTs overnight.

try unpluging everything that is not nessisary like your external drives etc... remove one stick of ram and try running with that.
