as5 is the best i could get at the time , temps dropped alot from the shin etsu .. could you link me to a test done with a d14 on a 1156 i7 @ 4.2ghz / 1.4v ? ill put money on the table saying it will top out at 80c + compared to my mid 60's using a h50 . quite incredible for a h50 if u ask me .. iv seen people using rasa kits that cant even get such low temps . anyone thats fiddled with their h50/70 will know .

Well-if your thinking a h50 or a h70, you might want to check out antecs h2o 620-it is better than h50 and will match h70 and plus the antec 920 is do out soon wich will blow corsairs away. It has already been proven and i love my 620 i preordered a month ago. Besides there only $69 u.s. Better warrenty and lots better hoses too.

Kitguru review of H70 and D14 with i7 970 (6-cores) @ 4.53 GHz

The stock H70 fans are louder and spin at 2000rpm. The Noctua fans run only at 1300rpm. Keep in mind Linus used the Noctua fans on the H70.

With similar fans, the difference between D14 & H70 is even greater.

I own both and honestly I dont think the D14 can really out perform the H70. Almost all the test I seen so far are in open space. How about someone mount those inside a case and test it? I think I probably will go ahead and try it out and see.

Read the Kitguru review I linked above. They tested inside a case.

Something is definitely wrong with this picture. 88c @ 4.7? No way if the H-70 is mounted correctly and the CPU is not grossly overvolted. I'm at 4.6 with an H-50 on a 2600k and I don't go past 68c.

Type in Antec620 in your search bar and go to overclockers club.com-very nice reveiw showing manny coolers against the 620 useing the i7 920 cpu, might be helpfull. It includes all the coolers talked about in this thread. If you read the reveiw-keep in mind, they only used the Antec h2o 620 with 1 fan, others had 2.

finding those temps on the h70 a little hard to believe. he needs to re-seat it and try again.
