its been awhile since I reapplied thermal paste. Should I try that?

I got to test 11 and my computer shut off but no blue screen. What does that mean?

Holy crap too hot eek.gif, most people on here will tell you not to go over 55c. Ive had mine to 56c with no problems, but you really don't want to be going over 60c. AMD rate the Phenom 2 max temp at 62c.

Not sure about your cooler, so I don't know if that is the problem, you definitely need to do something about heat so it's worth re-apply TIM and seeing what happens.

Oh wow. Thanks for the input there! What does the average CPU run at stock? Mine is generally 46 C

My Current Overclocking Setup in BIOS
AI Overclock-Manual
CPU Ratio-16.50x
FSB Frequency-220
PCIE Frequency-100
DRAM Frequency Control-Manual
DRAM Frequency-880MHZ
CPU/NB Frequency-2420MHZ
HT Link Speed-2.0ghz
CPU Voltage-1.4625v
CPU/NB Voltage-1.2875v
CPU VDDA Voltage-AUTO
DRAM Voltage-2.3v
HT Voltage-1.32v
NB Voltage-1.32v

Anything you see that I should edit? I'm thinking about raising the CPU/NB Frequency to 2640mhz and the CPU Ratio to 17-17.5

if youre getting those temps on that overclock, dont overclock it higher til you find out why.
personally i think youre using too much vcore. you bumped up 400mhz and use about .1v more than stock/auto. i could very well be wrong.
i also doubt you need to raise your nb volts or your ht volts. i dont see a need for it all.
i wouldnt change any voltages except for vcore and ram if your ram even needs it.
set all but vcore and ram volts back to auto and see if your temps drop and youre stable

What were your settings using the Multi only? If you don't mind me asking.
For 4.2Ghz it was:

CPU - 200x21 @ 1.44
CPU-NB - 2800Mhz @ 1.3v
HT - 2000Mhz
Ram was all stock but slightly tighter timings but not much al setting manual.

This is what im running now with different ram now using fsb.

EDIT: CPU-NB 1.27v

I looked at your CPU-Z photo and noticed that your stepping is at 3. Mine is at 2 but I have the same processor. Why is that? Does it affect much with my performance?

Also, I reapplied thermal paste in hopes of getting lower temperatues. That didn't work. I stocked everything aside from my CPU and the VCore. The CPU is at 3600mhz and the voltz are at 1.4375. Should I try to lower the volts more and see what I come up with?

You are going to find it hard to get a high CPU/NB OC with 2 stepped cpu, your voltage for 2800 is too low aswell, C2's are older and generally take more voltage to OC, hence hotter

I'm getting really frustrated. hah. I undid all of my other overclocks and I'm just focusing on the CPU. I'm at 3.6ghz at 1.45 volts and prime 95 still crashes within an hour. it gets past the 10000 k and then crashes. What else should I be doing to make this stable? I feel like adding more volts is too many for 3.6ghz
