I have 2 NICs, each connected to seperate networks. i need to change the nic that is currently in use to the other nic so that it can receive traffic from the local clients. does anyone know how to change the nic that is currently active in ESX 4.1?

Exactly.

So you have a host with 2 NICS. You have two separate networks connected to said NICS ?

If that's the case just change the NIC the VMs use to communicate with?

Are you talking about utilizing a NIC and using it as a virtual switch and restrict communication amongst the guests?
