Installing windows 7 on an older computer..

Thread Starter
Well it has an intel celeron 2.60ghz cpu and 1gb ram. I looked it up and that supports 64 bit OS's. However, when i put in the disc and it says windows is loading files, and then shows a blue background where normally a window would pop up saying install now, however that window never shows up, it just hangs

edit: that window just popped up, i clicked install now and it now it's hanging on setup is starting...help! I tried installing thru the OS the computer has (windows xp) but on reboot then it hangs on installing windows.

note: when the windows 7 install blue screen comes up all the colors are botched and very ugly looking. The menu still functions to the point before it hangs but the colors are all messed up, i guess because it doesn't have the proper drivers for the integrated gpu yet.

How about a complete list of the computer specs?

I had Windows 7 installed on a computer with a 1.66Ghz dual core, 1GB of DDR1. It surprisingly ran decent. Just had to do some tweaks.
