Sapphire HD 5850 and MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock ceiling locked!

MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock speed slider is still limited even after I modified the "MSIAfterburner.cfg" file. I changed the line to "UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1".
In afterburner, I have also checked "unlock voltage control" and "unlock voltage monitoring".

Using Win7 x64. Tried 11.3 and 11.4pre drivers.
Also tried on HD 6950, 6970 card, no difference.

* Set UnofficialOverclockingEULA field to the following text: I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
* Set UnofficialOverclockingMode to 1 to keep PowerPlay active (may not work on old ASICs), 2 to traditionally disable PowerPlay or to 0 to temporary disable unofficial overclocking path

This.

Thanks.
What about the voltage control? I can't change it on my Sapphire 5850.

before you can pass the 775mhz wall to that 5850, you have to use the asus or msi bios first.. there's a thread in here somewhere with a complete details on how to sucessfully flash your bios.

Here you go.

Actually I can pass 775mhz wall WITHOUT using a Asus or MSI bios, and I am doing that now.

That's sort of misleading. AB limits are defined by AOD limits, but enabling UnofficialOverclocking removes clock limits without needing a BIOS flash.

really? cos i have to install asus bios first before i can pass that wall..

and before that, i also enabled the unofficialoverclocking at the .cfg file, but to no avail..

Did you also set the "UnofficialOverclockingEULA" field to "I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it"?

That field does it for me.

There shouldn't be any reason to flash BIOS to another vendor just for OCing.
