Sapphire ATI 6870 FREEZE!

Hi, and sorry if my thread in wrong place.

i have problem with my card, its freeze for 3-5secs then back to normal screen when i play online games (World of Warcraft)/ [tried online and offline(Call of Duty/black ops)].



also i try to test my GPU and ram with many programmes suck as memtest, heaven benchmark for GPU on ultra settings and i didn't get any freeze, also the temp is normal.

i update Bios and [ATI driver(11.4) last driver].


i got this ERROR "AMD Display driver stopped responding and was recovered."

Driver issue,just update to latest drivers from GPU manafacturers site or Hexus.Uninstall your current drivers before installing though.After that you should be fine.

Sorry i see you already have.Did you un-install you old drivers before installing the new ones?If not delete all GPU drivers and try again.Also double check you have correct BIOS,its an easy mistake to make.

6*** series have problems with DX9. For WOW enable DX11.

@crossy82, yes i un-install my old driver by driver sweeper, and i update my bios from asus site.

I've been having this same problem and it has been ruining some games for me.

Running DX11 isn't an option because I have Windows XP. I'm hoping we can find a solution to this. If there is no option, I'll have to contact Newegg and see if they'll allow me to return the video card in light of this issue.

EDIT: Actually I don't have exactly the same problem, but very close. When I play games, it will hang at random times for a few seconds, but then the screen will go black, and usually will return to normal gameplay. Occasionally, however, it will not come back, and it will return to the Windows desktop with the game simply gone (Warcraft III).
