Ok here is the blog post with instructions

Here is a direct download to the ISO. I've RARed it up in WinRAR.

I've just quickly ammended my previous ISO; so if you come into any problems feel free to contact me here or on the blog. I've check both pretty often.

Type cd wdtler (yes there is a space there).

When I do this step, it shows as this is not a Western Digital drive.

ah i have to fix up the instruction...

When you get the command prompt:

goto the Fix subdirectory: Type - cd fix

then type f3.exe

It's the F3.exe file you want to run, the other files in there are to fix a problem on western digital drives. I've just slapped them into the same ISO to save space on my server.

Okay, so I think there is something definitely wrong with the hard drive. Now, the computer seems to always freeze upon loading windows. It freezes even before all my startup applications complete. Gonna exchange it for another F3.. hopefully I'll have better luck this time. If not, I'll probably just go with WD Black.

Did you manage to update the firmware or didn't it work?

I got the firmware to update, but it seems like I am still having the same issue.

Well at least it updated ok, but i'm sorry it didn't work out for you frown.gif. I guess your only option is to send it in for a replacement.

Thank you for all your help! I appreciate it.

I'm guessing it has to be a faulty drive since Windows also takes quite some time to boot. Even my old Seagate 160gb hard drive booted windows faster lol.
