BIOS Flash causing GPU to max out?

Thread Starter
Here is my problem. I bought a 1055t from a member here. I had to flash my bios on my MSI 790x-g45 for 6 core support. After that I started having trouble with my 450x2 setup. At first, SLI would not work at all. I reinstalled the sli-hack and it sort of worked. It reported in nVidia control panel that it was in SLI, but the performance sucked. So I uninstalled the GPU drivers, used driver sweep, and reinstalled. But now, I am peaking out at 99% on simple games like LoL.

So an upgrade from a 3.2 tri core to a 3.5 hex core killed my gpu performance wth.gif?

PLEASE HELP!

Your/our 790XT-G45 sucks ,due to a very crappy VRM design ,so it s is very possible that the mothebroard trottles your CPU due to the incapacity to feed that X6.The VRM MOSFETS must be boiling eggs with that X6 ,be carefull as they may fail and take something with them.

This board is barelly able to feed a quad what to say about a X6 ,so try and find another mobo to swap in your system to see if the CPU is really not up to the job.

For the moment the X6 is not for gaming as not many games know 6 cores ,CPU power is practically wasted.

Secondly the board is intended for ATI Crossfire not for SLI so the SLI hack may not work after bios updates or driver updates.SLI is not supported on that motherboard.

Also the performance of the PCI-E slots on this mobo in Windows 7 seems to be lower than on mobos based on 770 or 790 chipsets ,at least acording to Windows test for video performance.

I would change the mobo if i were you.It s intended for basic systems.

Asus Crosshair IV Formula in the mail. I've had problems with this board for the last year, since day one.
