And of course, those sexy Toughbooks, Hardcore specs, Durability, Waterproof, and the Price tag to come with. If you can afford that, Then Why bother getting a tablet?

I had an hp netbook and then I bought and iPad from a family member who was getting the ipad2. I likely never would have bought one full price thinking it was more of a toy than a legitimate device. However after using one I don't miss my netbook at all. It is so much nicer to use at home for just browsing etc. Net books are really not comfortable to use without a table due to the small screen. I have typed full papers on the iPad and print to my hp wireless printer with iprint. I have not used my netbook in months, but I use my iPad everyday sometimes more than my desktop. At home I even have it running as a thin client for my arch Linux machine.

Now if only I could get a tablet running a real Linux distro like arch it would be perfect.

Ok, so tablets are slightly better then a netbook for using while standing up and walking around. So why in the world wouldn't you use use a smart phone? A touchscreen larger then a phone does not make ANY SENSE.

Apple makes the iPad and then all of a sudden people think it's a good idea. Gaming on a touch screen BLOWS by the way. Even on the Nintendo DS it makes the majority of games more frustrating and less fun to play.

Also, as a very weak and severely disabled person, a netbook is substantially more comfortable and easier to use in every situation other then standing up. And here again, why would you want to hold this huge screen while walking around when you could use a small one?

When the iPad first came out, everyone who wasn't a huge apple fan realized that it was completely useless and served no purpose. Now that everyone is making them, trying to cash in on the tablet marketing, it's an acceptable format?

Yes my netbook ran arch too the one thing that wins over the tablet.

I am well aware about changing the size of fonts etc but the nice thing is I can hold the tablet at eye level while sitting as opposed to be hunched over a netbook that's my point. It's just a bit more comfortable for me anywa maybe not others.

Smartphone is too small for browsing.

To be honest I kind of wanted to not like the iPad thinking it was just another hipster overpriced apple device but after using it I can't knock it.
