What should I do with my PC P&C 750W?

I bought this PSU back in 2008. Its rock solid, but the last year or so I have noticed a lot of squealing/whining coming from my Sigrig. I always assumed it was the GPU because it would only happen when I was folding and putting a 99% load on the GPU.

I just recently moved some GPUs from my sigrig to my dedicated folding rig and noticed the GPUs were much quieter. I then changed out the 750w unit for another PSU and voila! No more squealing!

I was going to sell the 750w unit, but now I am not sure if I can do that with a good conscience. I tried to see if there were any bad caps in the PSU, but I cant see well enough with the cover on.

The PSU is still under warranty, but I fear that I would get a Mk. II which, from what I have seen, are junk.

tl;dr
PSU still works
PSU squeals, but not sure why
Still has warranty, but replacement likely junk(Mk. II).
Sell as is or RMA?

The Mk.II units aren't junk, they're just on a different level of quality... and they may replace yours with a recent Silencer 760W unit, which is a SeaSonic S12D. Of course I don't know what they'd give you, but either way, it wouldn't be junk!

You could try to get them to replace it with a Silencer 760W, which is a big upgrade from the 750W.

simple, rma and sell what ever you get, cause you don't want to sell the current one. But it isn't affecting the unit.

My bad. Junk was a strong word. I was just concerned that maybe my used PSU was still worth more than a new Mk. II. I think I was over valuing my PSU just a little because its been a great unit to me.

I didnt realize they brought back the original silencer name either. That would be great if they sent me one of those and I will be sure to ask for one.
