Blown overclock after memory upgrade, now what? - Page 2

Bump that voltage dude , I don't think your cpu's getting enough juice right now , so that should make it stable .

THanks again for the help and comments. I am pretty sure the vtt/qpi, imc, ioh core, ioh io are all still set to "auto"

The settings that I adjusted manually are as follows:

CPU Ratio........19
BClock.............200
Vcore..............1.22 (was 1.20)
QPI/Dram.........1.25
Ram................DDR3-1603
Dram V............1.64
Load LIne Calibration...........Enabled (was auto)
Spead Spectrum (several)....Disabled (was auto or disabled)
EIST.................................Disabled (was enabled)
C1E.................................Disabled (was enabled)

--So do you think the game crash is a result of low-Vcore, or some other voltage thats related directly to video?

--If I increase the Vcore, wont that just raise my temps as well?

--Is 3.8 within reach or should I just slow it down to 3.6?

--Should I consider slowing my memory down to maybe 1333? (or whatever the next level down is)

Oh, I should add that my primary display is 2500 x 1600, and the video card is a SOC version of the 560ti with a frequencey of something like 1000Mhz. It runs pretty warm, but didnt realy clear 80 when it choked last night.

Again, Im not sure if the freeze was card, voltages, CPU, or memory...

ok when filling all memory slots, it is recommended to use 1.35v on the qpi/vtt ( what voltage does your memory recommend? ) vcore I would bump to 1.25v. that is where i would start. I believe your crashes are not quite enough cpu vcore and your qpi/vttv is too low.. don't slow down your ram ( will make no dif ) if you increase cpu vcore your temps can go up, this is normal. it shouldn't go up too much though at that voltage

well I think I finally found a happy position between stable and hot. I ended up with specs as follows. Ive already done quite a lot of animation with it and it passed the toughest test on IntelBurn (which filled up 16gb of the ram). I would have loved to test all 24 GB but apparently Windows Home premium has an artificial cap at 16....would have been nice to know.. . Anyway, the intel burn test got the processor much hotter than my typical animation workflow, even though the cpu and memory was loaded. Feeling better and btter about things. Here is where I am today

CPU Ratio........19
BClock.............200
Vcore..............1.225
QPI/Dram.........1.25
Ram................DDR3-1603
Dram V............1.66
Load Line Calibration...........Enabled
Spead Spectrum (several)....Disabled
EIST.................................Disabled
C1E.................................Disabled
