disconnect the power lead remove battery from the cmos and leave out for a hour replce battery and turn on bios should have reset to default settings now try installing os

Simpler than you think. Just find where the hard drive plugs into the motherboard and switch it to a different port. You should have a bunch.

TBH that's probably not the problem, especially if you installed a different OS no problem.

I think I know why you got it so cheap. It was probably banned from GFWL .

no i dont mean remove power supply i mean turn off power supply and remove the cmos battery leav the battery out for about an houre the cmos battery is situated on the motherboard by tho cmos jumper its looks like a watch battery
when you replace the battery the bios should be at default settings
turn power back on and go into bios the date and time should be outoff date and the time should be wrong if they are the bios should be at default settings ifso try and install os

Hope that helps locate it. Just remove it carefully, and after a few seconds, you can put it back in the way it was.
