First time overclocking, I need help - Page 4

Loosen would mean higher numbers. Going to 7-7-8-24 would be tightening the ram timings. You could get a small boost by tweaking the sub timings on it with cpu tweaker.

Ok got it. I will try going 9-9-8-24? Or should I just go the recommended timings for my RAM 9-9-9-24?

yes, running your 1600 ram at 888 24 is faster than recommended...just run it at 998 24 1t and you should be good

like i said, i recommend running 25 runs of linpack (LinX)...it takes me 20 seconds per run...so 8 and a half minutes for a complete test run...50 runs is the next step, so about 17 minutes...better than 6 hours?

LinX stopped after an error at 5 minutes 24 seconds in.
So what do I do now, just increase DRAM voltage?
