ASUS FanXpert chassis fan limit

Thread Starter
Currently I`m using Asus FanXpert application for controlling my CPU and chassis fans. I have a small problem with this program. I`m able to set a minimum 10% speed of CPU fan (as seen below) which is very cool feature by the way.

cpukc.jpg

But when I enter the chassis fan section the low limit is 40% and I can`t get lower.
Is there any way to change this 40% chassis fan speed limit?

800 rpm might be the lower limit of the chassis fan it's self.
I assume the cpu fan is PWM(4 pin) and the chassis fan is DC(3pin).

Yep, the fan is 3pin, it is Scythe Slip Stream 1200rpm SY1225SL12M, but I think it could work with lower speed than 800rpm.

Try with chassis Q-fan on silent or disabled, see if that helps.

On silent it is even worse, the minimum speed is 42%. When disabled the fan is working with 100% power.

Have you tried if Speedfan works with your board. This is how I control chassis fans on my Asus Rampage Gene III system using the latest beta version :

Did you change the profile in fan expert or the bios?
I was meaning the chassis Q-fan settings in the bios.
If Q-fan is set to optimum or performance in the bios it may conflicting with fan expert.

Gyro

Q-Fan in BIOS is set to manual as well as CPU.

Disable chassis Q-fan in the bios, see if that helps.
The cpu Q-fan seems to be working ok so leave that as is.
