Everyone's not as sensitive as you.

3D at 30fps to 40fps is perfectly playable for me. Obviously I would like for a game to as close to 60fps as possible but if a game is averaging 35 to 40 fps, I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars to get it up to 55fps.

I agree. 3D gaming at around 30-40 fps has not caused an increase of headaches for me, or any sort of discomfort.
Obviously gaming at 120 would be anyone's preference, but it is simply not true IMO that it is unplayable or unbearable at 30fps.

I decided to just get one 580 in the end. Wasn't comfortable with the notion of spending $700+ on 570 SLI for less vRAM than I want and more horsepower than I need (an annoying contradiction).

If one 580 is "not enough" in 1 or 2 games at max settings I can more than live with that. It's the Asus DCU2 version so at least it'll be quiet and probably OCable.

And no, I don't get headaches using 3D with a slower framerate, either. Played Portal 2 at 25 FPS, Trine at 20, and L4D at 30 FPS on the Dell laptop all weekend with no headache.

Though I did notice that at 50 to 70% depth settings, my eyes takes a few seconds to make sense of what the heck is happening on the screen. Beyond that is just dizzying.

3d Vision when on at less then 60fps doesn't cause me any issues, most games I play are right around 25-55fps with valve games playing 40-60fps with 3d vision on.

At no time has my 3d vision not functioned properly with lower fps. It just looks, well...laggy.

I'm also, lucky enough to be able to play majority of the games at 100% depth, with the exception that some games you cannot use 100% depth because it doesn't render properly.

I have never gotten any headaches or any thing well while using them. Only negative effect that I've had is dry eyes from it, but that's from me not blinking frequently enough.

Also, good rule of them for using 3d vision or what the performance hit will be like, is:
1. Start with the lowest depth setting and work your way up to reduce any discomforts.
2. Your fps will be roughly about half of that with 3d vision off.
3. 3d Vision isn't for everyone. Those of us that can experience the 3d effects typically love what it does and doesn't have any issues with it what so ever.

I highly recommend getting this specially if you only need the glasses.
