Did my laptop break my G9X???? lol....

Thread Starter
Ever since i attached my G9X mouse to my new laptop (G73SW) it started to lag. (even when i put it back on my desktop)

The mouse just.. lags and sometimes shoots out of place when i'm trying to position it.

I didn't notice this last night when i first attached it to my laptop, but now it's crazy bad.

Help/ideas?

Update: My mouse only lags like crazy in two directions. Going to the top left corner and to the bottom right corner.

This means it goes up and down, left and right, and Top right, and bottom left, just 100% perfectly fine.

Only those two horizontals are having an issue. I don't know if this is relevant, but i found it interesting and figured maybe someone else will too. =P

Final Update: After troubleshooting with logitech on the phone, (the troubleshooting was kinda funny) they are sending me a new mouse. Yay for 3 year warranty on the G9X..

Final thoughts: God i hope it was just a coincident/fluke and my next mouse doesn't get wrecked by my laptop. Way to go Logitech.

Thanks for the help here guys.

I never had an issue with it before. I"m trying to think what could have caused it. =/. Is there any way to like reset the mouse itself?

Could the laptop not have provided enough energy for the mouse and that broke it or something?

is there software for your mouse, you might be able to use that. I have software for my mamba to change all the settings on the mouse, so they are there no matter what computer it is attached to.

give that a try, if that doesn't work. see if logitech will replace it for you.

@OP

If you've dropped your laptop (causing internal damage) and/or your USB ports are glitching electrically, that can cause damage to the components you plug into them.

There are USB port checking tools you can get, but none that I know of that are cheap.

what a bust. Wait 4 months to spend 1400 on a laptop (Lots of saving) just to have its usb port break my mouse and probably anything else i stick in it -_-.

I left the mouse plugged into it overnight while it was off.. gah..

Going to try and contact Logitech tomorrow.. wonder how long it would take for them to help me. Says it should have a 3 years *limited* warranty wth ever that means.

just contact logitech and tell them your mouse just started lagging all of a sudden and nothing you do will fix it, also say that you have tried it in multiple computers and they will most likely replace the mouse for you, probably with a refurb unit, but it will still work.
