BFBC2. Why am I so easy to pwn? - Page 5

Generally battlefield because it is verging on 'tactical shooter' as a genre (at the same time, it is nothing like a tactical shooter, because noone plays fairly), people like to sit in camping spots and stay there for as long as possible, use the overpowered weapons and somehow get enjoyment out of the game without moving at all.

90% of the time there'll be at least 2-3 people camping with the AN94, which since I started playing has become increasingly obviously overpowered as a gun, especially on hardcore servers.

Problem with battlefield is the gradient between beginners and pros, they actually make the game 2-3x easier for the people who have all the unlocks (overpowered weapons are unlocked last, some unlocks actually increase power of weapons, magnum ammo for example gives a 1.5x multiplier on bullets, only counter is body armour which is -1.5x bullet damage)

Battlefield is alot slower than your typical CS/CoD shooter, even in 'rush' matches last up to 3-4 hours at a time, depending on how many respawn tickets there are.

You just have to find which class suits you best, I run medic alot with the Type 88 red dot or with fast healing (the ironsights are great so I use fast healing alot of the time), I do fairly well. Medic is quite rewarding aswell because you help the team in more than one way. LMG's are great for medium range encounters and come up well against the assault or sub machine guns. Fast healing is really good as you can sometimes survive extra hits if it's near you, as you're healing yourself as soon as you take damage.

So yeah, find the class that suits you best, if you havn't played much medic I'd give it a go, really fun.

Can't you just accept it's unreasonable to need 7 assault rifle bullets to kill someone?

That's not the only problem with soft-core. 3d spotting is another..

Reflux: The only "overpowered" weapons in the game are the CGs and RPGs. (they're the only ones that reward innacuracy) All the other guns are quite fairly balanced.

but you really don't need 7 bullets... and 7 is not half a clip...

and even if you did it's not unreasonable because it's a game and not a simulator of some kind. If you don't like the gameplay then go play something else. The lower damage / higher health is a feature some people really like. If you want more damage go play HC, but it's not as balanced.

no

Assault: the AEK is basically a full auto M16A2 (the last unlock), learning how to burst with this weapon makes it one of the best long distance ARs that can do full auto

Engineer: the 9A-91 is the most powerful SMG, although its limited magazine capacity can be too limiting for novice users

Medic: after nerfing the M60 over the various patches, the starting LMG, the PKM, is tied with the M60 for most powerful LMG bullet for bullet, but has a higher ROF and more ammo, its also now more accurate. There is absolutely no reason to take the M60 over it outside of aesthetics

Recon: the M24 is almost functionally identical to the GOL, it actually has a slightly faster ROF and reload time, the only advantage to the GOL is that the GOL has absolutely zero crosshair drift which can be helpful for extreme long range sniping. They otherwise do the same damage and have the same ammo capacities.

So really, the starting weapons are not crap, especially on the Medic and Recon.

The true disadvantage for noobs as far as weapon access goes is that they do not have access to the RDS or ACOG scopes (which are a godsend for most of the weapons as most have terrible iron sights) and magnum ammo (which boosts the damage of every bullet fired weapon by 25%, in some cases this is the difference between needing 4 connecting bullets to bring down a target instead of taking 6 bullets, and in cases like with the shotgun and slugs or bolt action rifles it doubles the 1-shot-body-shot-kill radius from 10m to 20m)

It's actually 4-6 bullets for most weapons, some high ROF weapons require more.
You need to calculate magnum ammo into it, since that is the only spec worth taking anyway.
14.3 x 1.25 x 6 = 107.25 (AEK/M16 all ranges)
16.7 x 1.25 x 5 = 104,375 (a lot of assault rifles at short range)
20 x 1.25 x 4 = 100 (The good SMG's at short range)

This is not even counting headshots.

And yes, why they made rocketlaunchers so good against infantry is beyond me.

Really? the weapon that's been nerfed at least 3 times in a row is 'increasingly' obviously overpowered?

people say it takes half a clip to kill someone because they dont stop firing until after they get recognition that the guy is dead, by that time you have likely fired 4-5 or more bullets more than you should have.

Pay attention to how many bullets you fire and you will realize when to stop firing and wasting ammo.

this guy knows how to fire, if you watch. He Tap tap tap tap tap fires, he doesnt just hold it down, by tapping as fast as you can, you basically maintain 100% accuracy on all your bullets.

I just bought this game, Under $20 on Newegg.com. Enjoying it alot, I still have less kills than deaths, but the tide is definitely changing. I'm like lvl 7 or something and finally got some perks or whatever you call them in this game.

I love that Engineers repair, Medics revive... Yeah that sound's stupid but other shooters, rarely I see those classes really out there to do their job.

Team's move up together building by building, behind rock by rock, Most realistic war game I've ever played.

It's also very relaxing, It's not the if you're good you will be 55-11 game like mw2 (a common score for me there) It's alot more laid back, team based, and capture point based. Nice to use vehicles again, too. Now to find a new joystick, cause i'm going to be bombing you all in BF3.
