Thuban is not a gaming chip. I think people call it the "youtube chip" because all it's good at is transcoding videos

hmmmm I have a 1055T @ 4.06GHz and it does me fine..... Hell! Iv'e even got all the settings maxxed out and still achieve a 30+FPS through Flight Simulator X, and that's still a graphics intensive game.

Iv'e never lagged in any game.
QFT. Thuban is no where near being a "terrible" chip.
The article is form toms intel biased hardware anyway.

i3 2100 is still better than any PII X4s. Non-K series allows for limited overclocks, up to 4.1GHz on a single core and 3.8GHz on all cores. PII X4 would need to be over 4.5GHz to match a 3.8GHz i3-2100.

Why is the 2600K the top? It doesn't have anything better (for gaming) on the 2500K

I'm a die-hard AMD fan, but did they really just compare the i5-750 with the Phenom ii?
i5 Would blow it out of the water.

The name of the article is "best gaming CPUs for the money" not "the best overclocking CPUs for the money." If it were, I'd have to give a nod to the 955. But in pure gaming the 2100 is better. Face it, you'll feel better inside.

So.. 2mb extra cache, 4 extra threads, and higher stock clocks? I agree it's not much, but it's something.

At 3.6ghz, the PhII is pretty close to a stock i5. Of course.. the i5 can be overclocked too..

You know, it seemed like a lot to spend almost $700 on CPU/mobo when i7 launched but my god, it feels pretty smart now. Amazing longevity out of the 1366 platform.
