Guys calm down.
No need to argue about who gets more rep on an internet forum.

Personally I think SB is the best "mid-range" chip. I say mid-range based on price not performance. I think it is best price/performance.

Intel currently dominates mid and high end CPUs righ now. AMD only does great low to mainstream CPUs right now. ALL just IMO. Im not saying they are bad for gaming just that Intel is better option for "future proof" and higher end gaming.

I mean come on how long have they been milking their current architecture? The best thing to come out of AMD in the past 6 years was Deneb cpu wise.

P.S. Props to AMD though for not switching sockets every CPU launch like some people...

I am glad to see that they mention the i5 7XX series, but they are not worth buying now unless you have the 1156 socket or can get it cheap, mine is overclocked to 4.0ghz with out a problem and i will not have to upgrade for a couple of years.

Deneb is heavily based off K7, effectively. (K8 was based off K7, K10 is based off K8, K10.5 is based off K10.)

Not that Intel can talk, the Core i7 is based off the Pentium Pro iirc.

If you guys are happy with your 1055T then that's fine. But, it's terrible compared to the intel chips.
No it's not .

1366 is still tops and will outlast SB in terms of actual usability. The limitations of SB just make the chipset a POS in the end. Granted the chips are fast, but the SB chipset is crippled compared to X58. You will likely never notice a difference between a 1366 or an 1155 system, but the 1366 socket is more versatile due to the X58 chipset.

Ah,right because having less PCI lanes and only 2 processors than can overclock due to the limited chipset makes your precious SB perfect.
