SB - multiplier vs BCLK vs VCore - Page 2

You're not getting this: You do not adjust the baseclock unless you have a crappy non-unlocked CPU like mine. It's completely best to leave it at 100. The baseclock is for all the components inside your PC; SATA, PCI-Express, PCI legacy and buses inbetween these components. While your CPU may be able to and designed to handle the extra strain, your hard drives, sound card and everything else isn't.

CPU killing voltage is not safe and temperatures DO matter with these chips. This is the point with these 32nm lithography chips, voltages and temperatures are extremely important. What's the point in having a rare 59x multi chip if you're going to kill it?

Again with the "whats the point"... What does it matter? My chip. If I kill it thats my loss. Not yours. I dont care about safety voltages or temps. I didn't ask for the recepie of a 4.0 OC. So can we please just focus on the main thing here? Multiplier VS BCLK VS Vcore.

What would most likely allow me to hit 6.0+ easiest?

The only way to hit 6Ghz is with a high multi plus overclocking of the BCLK. But you have to keep in mind overclocking the BCLK also overclocks the PCIe bus, SATA controller and all other devices linked into the frequency.

There is no 'best' way to get a high overclock. Some people can get 5900Mhz with a 59 multi and 100 BCLK other can do it with 57 multi and a hgigh BCLK.

It's all chip dependant. If you're not scared about destroying your hardware you can just experiement.

Go for a high multi with as low a BCLK as possible. Im also going to suggest one stick of ram and one gpu to lower the stress on the imc and motherboard.

Bit off topic but for all those advocate against high voltages, it is unlikely to kill his cpu right away. I've put my chip up to 1.85+ with no degradation to it. Actually I need a lower vcore with my new B3 board to get 4.9 stable.

I was giving help and advice. If you're too stubborn to read it, so be it.

Your best bet is to use 59x multi and then adjust the baseclock no higher than 105-6MHz on the baseclock to avoid damaging other components.

Throw whatever voltages at your chip, like you say, if you kill it, you kill it. It'll be a shameful and disgusting waste if you do.

Oh and thanks for belittling my advice. I was giving an example of how I got to 4.0 without having access to a x40 multi. Which is exactly the kind of advice you were looking for.

That's called a suicide run and yes, as I've been trying to point out, these 32nm chips are extremely sensitive to voltages and temperatures. The higher the clock speed the lower the voltage resistance. Which lines up exactly with what you say about needing a lower VID in order to achieve a higher clock.

Which is also the reason for my advice to the OP about the limits and safe zones.

And finally, you cannot reasonably say there was no degradation on your chip unless you ran it at 1.85v for a good length of time (weeks).

Cheers.

Chips that do 59x are suppose to be overclocked to their limits. Thats what its all about. Yeah, poor chip. I'm really crying. Not. Anyways I'll try a 59 run tommorow with dice. I want that 6.0. No matter what. More than 6.0 would be a bonus. When it dies I'll buy Ã* new chip and call it a day. Cya
