My new 120GB 320 is slower than 80GB X25M

Should i *** or LOL??

120GB 320 beats 80GB X25M in sequential writes by about 40mb/s more.

All 4K/Randon access scores, 80GB X25M fared better even writes...

WEI gave me 7.6(320) vs 7.7 (X25M)!

Will a new firmware fix this or am i pwneD?

No SATA6 even....totally disappointed, please skip this overhyped SSD of a drive.

......before you start dissing SSD's

you should have done your research that as NAND shrinks, write speeds, tolerance etc drops off as it shrinks smaller.....

the new 25nm SSD's are cheaper and are still quite fast when compared to mechs, but the older SSD's are still "faster" if you really care about write speeds etc

and WEI is stupid....it doesn't mean anything

Well, the "hype" for the G3 is supposedly for pricing, not performance. However while prices have dropped, the price drops aren't as big as when going from Intel G1 -> G2, not to mention we've already seen a number of price drops on 34nm SSD's in the past few months. If we were comparing G2 release pricing where 80GB is $225 and 160GB is $440, prices for the new drives are very attractive. However, in light of recent price drops and the relatively recent release of the X25-M G2 120GB at $230, Intel's G3 is kind of meh.

Right now, I don't really need improved performance from SSD's. I just want to start seeing some massive price drops.
