Definitely possible.

I also did just try unplugging and replugging, the noise that was there is gone now, or at least lessened quite a bit.

I just put my build together a few days ago which included an ax1200 that I bought in march 2011 from ncix. The noise coming from it is almost identical to the OP's sound clip, but a little lower in pitch. It's very loud and easily louder than my case and heatsink fans. I have a lot of fans. It's really disappointing since there are other decent quality 1000w+ modular psus that dont make anywhere near this amount of noise and cost less than half of what I paid. Definitely going to try rma.

Do you have to pay shipping when you rma?
