I would recommend it, just trying to help you out bro

I need 1.52v to run 4.2GHz continuously. My temps are low as well, 33C idle, 53C under heavy load

Yeah mines is around 35c idle max temp between 55-58c but after my 3 pass on prime 95 stay under 58c drops back down to 55c the silver arrow is awesome keeping the temps under max c I use to hit 63 with the zalman and I would have to shut it down

hahaha wth! Mine idles at 26 and at 4GHz on a terrible 10 second OC does 32degree idle. Do the thermal compound right. Put a pea size in the middle and press it down. The credit card trick causes air bubbles. Plus it does not need to be entirely on the whole CPU. Just a pea size in the middle does the trick i used cheap thermal compound and got these temps... good luck

Your is a 955 not really the same witch I heard vs a 965 little hotter my 965 stock runs at 34c idle stock but now its 35c since the overclock but also I already found out the right way to put the thermal compound on I'm doing the dot in the middle I use to spread it with the card my friend told me the right way to do it so now I'm getting better temps It was idleing at 40c overclock but now 35c

I recommend 12+ hours. Plus run IntelBurnTest (yes IBT on an AMD chip).

Once you pass 12+ hours of Prime95 and IBT on Very High you have a 99.9% stable o/c.
I would give up too if i was getting my ass beat for that long. I cant blame it for freezing. I've never ran mine more than 3 hrs on my 1055t @ 4.134ghz. Its only at 43c on a noctua nh-d14 2 1.479 in bios, 1.51 in cpu-z under load. Never had an issue in the 6 months i've had it

I see your problem. nForce based motherboards overclock like jizz in ma pants with AMD processors.

Good luck.

So far I been running prime 95 for about 5 hours right now but last nite I try to run it but failed ! It didn't even want to run a hour so now I'm testing it again and its running ok room temp is 80f not sure what that is in celsious ? My 965 temp is 56c max is 58c bouncing back in forward between 56c and 57c I think I'm going to stop at 8 hours if it makes it .I Google prime 95 stable hours people say 8 hours is ok just for playing games and surfing the net so I don't know if I should let it run 12 hours maybe 10 hours is the max ill go maybe if it dose really good ill keep going maybe 12 hours

Your problem is that board. It's a 4 phase, Nvidia chipset board. You shouldn't be pushing over roughly 1.475v with that CPU on that board.

And forget about RAM for now. Get your NB clocked up a little higher, and increase CPU-NB voltage as needed. But again though, you're already pushing the limits of your motherboard FAR too hard.

^mine is 4+1 and will do 4.18 just on fsb overclock...seen 1.6v at times.
i would say its down to temps, nforce boards can limit max OC but i doubt 4ghz is this chips limit...

what temps is your mobo sensors seeing?
mine wouldnt stable at 4ghz until i reapplied TIM on the mobo heatsinks.

the 8gb ddr3 is 4x2gb sticks?remove 2 and give it a shot,the IMC might be a bit weak.
but agreed on giving the cpu-nb some abuse will reap benefits that are tangible.
