sorry sir,i forgot i posted here, try nvidia system tools and look up the mcp temp.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia_...ools_6.06.html
the mcp can get quite hot and mess up your OC,reapplying thermal paste helps,as does adding a little 40x40 fan if necesary.
removing 2 sticks will help max OC and ram speed as its less of a load on the IMC.

try pushing 1.51v on the cpu with an fsb of 250+ and keep the stock multiplier. with my unlocked 555 i have to keep the multiplier at or below 16. with my mobo the voltage offset is weird because when i push 1.51v its really only at 1.504v. as for the northbridge set it at 1.3v on the cpu-nb vid and try and get 2700+ on the nb but only do this after youve hit 4.0ghz on the cpu. loosen your ram to 1066 and push 6-6-6-15 cr1 timings raise this after you hit your max on cpu and nb. as you raise your dram loosen the timings to your max stable mhz and then crunch the timings back down as low as you can while maintaining stability. try getting 2100 on the ht at 1.22v on some msi boards it helps to add the extra voltage even at 2000mhz it helps stabilize it.

your safezone on nb voltage depends on how cool you keep it. on mine i can push 1.3750v before it hits 55c to play it safe do not exceed 55c also if you have a nb/sb/vrm heatsink(s) remove them and remove the stock thermal paste and apply thermal grease in liberal amounts. when i did this i saw a 5c decrease in max nb temperature and it also helps keep your vrms from heating up and possibly exploding.

if you can get a fan in your case to blow air directly on/across the nb/vrm heatsink you will be better off.

Thank you so much that's what I been wanting to hear from someone I been trying to get to 4ghz for a few months now and I was being held back from some of my computer parts and lack of information on how to hit my mark but now its been pure glory one more hour and I'm done with testing 9 hours so far almost at 10

Thanks I have this program already but need to re install it I reformed my computer not to long ago so I only have a few program installed on my ssd ill put it back so I can use it.I also Wish I can put back my side panel fan on my door my silver arrow fan clips blocks it from shutting the door is their any low profile fan that's slim that I can still use a side panel door fan ? Also are you guys saying to put more thermal compound on my board ? If so where at ?

+1 and repped - Good advice given here.

I can say whenever you run a higher CPU multi, it tends to raise temps since that means the CPU is doing more work per MHz you get from it.
I've seen folks try a 20x multi and crash all day long trying to get 4.0 (No boot - Unstable) but do better dropping the multi and using some bus speed to make up the difference to hit 4.0 stable.
With my 555 and 720, the sweet spot seems to be around 17x, I can go higher with better than air cooling (H2O) but even then 18.5x - 19x is about as high as either wants before I have problems.
Phenoms are temp sensitive and can run higher in some cases with lower voltages used than you'd think - My 720 for example can hit 4.0 with only 1.44v's, with 1.47v's it can go above 4.1 no prob and my 555 acts in a similar way, just needs a little more v's to do the same numbers.

You'll have to figure out what your particular CPU needs since no two CPU's are alike and will act differently, what works for mine may not work so well with yours so don't take my results as what would work for you - You'll have to experiment with settings to figure that out for your setup.

So far from what I've read, you've made good progress and keep at it!

your totally right my friend that's what i been trying to tell some people not everyone chip acts the same its different and kind of base on luck and your setup depends on it my next build will be amd & ati rather then amd and nvidia even though i love nvidia i started out using their GPU's so i wanted another one and i never ran sil so i got the chance so i took it

but thank you !!!

murserouscore and kryton

my 555 is very very finicky if i do a multi only oc i can hit 4ghz but i have to push 1.53v and my temps skyrocket to anywhere between 61c and 64c depending on ambient temp thats way to close to tjmax for comfort. with a fsb between 250-280 i can hit 4ghz and almost hit 4.1ghz with a max temp of 57c but with an fsb lower than 290 my performance is as good as stock as far as boot speeds. however my performance is awesome in gaming and benchmarks. currently im testing 300+fsb with low multi and so far i have hit 4ghz and 4.050ghz stable with a max temp of 55c im still pushing for the highest fsb i can to try and get 4.1ghz+ stable so far im getting closer than i have before with a 300+fsb. one thing i have notices is extremely fast response times on everything i do and my performance seems to be kicking ass.

ive come pretty far with my 555 than i have when i owned an athlon and my 550. ive experimented with my case repainted it added my own personal touch to everything. when it comes to over clocking ill look at others results and use it as a goal but i do it differently. most ppl do it straight multi. i dont like that to much it seems like a cop out way of overclocking... thats just my opinion and im not trying to offend anyone. from what ive come to realize is that o/c is like playing a video game you start off crappy but once you get a feel for it you develop your own techniques.

when i first started o/cing i screwed up several cpu's and mobos, you live and learn thats what o/cing is learning how to push your hardware to the edge without killing it.

thank you for the rep kryton
