Intel e8200 oc help

Thread Starter
Hello! friends. I have a core 2 duo e8200 processor clocked at 2.66ghz with 1333 fsb. I want to overclock it to maximum up to 3.33ghz or may be even less up to the level at which it works perfectly cool and stable through air cooling only. I am a newbie to the overclocking of processors and this is going to be my first oc. I need your step-by-step help to do this. I have 4gb Corsair RAM having latency 9-9-9-24 clocked at 1333mhz.
Also, the board I'm using is Asus P5G41T-M LX which supports fsb upto 1333 only. You can see it here:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...75/P5G41TM_LX/

This board has a turbo button which can be used for overclocking. Should I use this feature to overclock or should I go for BIOS overclocking. Whatsoever be the method please explain it deeply as I'm a newbie, what I have to do in BIOS, what multiplier do I need to set, what volatges should I use, how to increase fsb, voltage, how to change RAM latency timer, etc.

You have DDR3 RAM. It won't become a limit. The limit will be the board or the CPU. What cooling are you using? That might become a limit too.

You can try raising the FSB to 400MHz (1600MHz) FSB. You may need to give the CPU more voltage, and you may need to switch your ratio if the RAM can't do 1600MHz, but you'll be fine lowering it to 800MHz to achieve that since DDR3 brings very small real-world advantage to Core 2 for most use (and any gain it gets you will be well worth the trade-off of instead having the overclocked CPU).

P41 are poor overclockers. Bump down your CPU and RAM multiples and work on finding your boards max stable FSB. Test w/ Prime Blend.

Is the RAM latency settings currently I'm having i.e. 9-9-9-24 fine or do I have to change them. I fear I might burn it.
