Just because something is the fastest doesn't make it good. Do I need to remind you of the GTX 480?

If the 260 suits your gaming needs just fine, a 560 will be more than enough.

If it's all about looks, you can get EVGA's all black Crysis 2 edition GTX 560:

Op would be really helpful to know the games that you play?? Would you actually make use of dx11 or is it something you'd like to have, just because it's nice to have? I find it hard to recommend someone to spend a shed load of money on a card they are not going to use, when the one they have is absolutely fine for the purposes for which they use it.

Do you care about how much you spend? I understand you don't want sli, and I don't blame you, I don't think it's worth the hassle, but if you truly don't care about price vs performance, then we may as well recommend the 580.

As far as colour co-ordination, I cant remember what you said about evga, but don't Sapphire make blue cards??

Lastly people will always tell you to wait for the next generation of cards, if everyone did that no-one would ever get a new card, or a new iphone for that matter, lol. Having said that, the 500 series have been out for a while now, so it might be worth the wait.

I think its funny others mentioning the ATI when its not even an option on the poll while ati might be ok you have to hope they put out decent drivers a problem they have had many many times in the recent past. gtx 560 is my vote.

OP isn't asking about value for money

This thread is about which card he should get. And the answer is very simple, the GTX580. How can you argue with the fastest single GPU card on the planet?

If the OP wants to be as future proof as possible and stick to single GPU solution, then the 580 is the card you want.

As someone else said, the 580 is the best card I have ever owned. She overclocks extremely well, runs pretty much every game smooth as butter and I couldn't be happier that I got a 580.

My friend got 570 SLI and asked me why I got a 580 over 570 SLI and my answer was someting along the lines of; "I prefer single GPU solutions, so the 580 was a no brainer. And even if I wanted 2 GPU's, I can always get another 580 and 580 SLI > 570 SLI"

Sure, the 580 costs more, but thats because it is the fastest single GPU card on the market.

So from a 580 owner, get the 580. You will not be dissapointed!

Just sounds to me like you are jealous that you don't own one

How can you argue that the 580 isn't a good card?

Its the fastest single GPU card on the planet, runs significantly cooler than the 480, is 20% more efficient than the 480, is quieter than the 480 and runs anything you can throw at it. And lets not forget that the 480 was the fastest single GPU card in the previous generation. So that is no mean feat

Yes, it must be a terrible card
