Hit the Upgrade Bug

Thread Starter
Seriously just finished OCing to 4.1 ghz. I need to fine tune it as my max load temps hit 80c with a venomous x. Maybe this is standard?

Anyways looking over my rig what can I do without spending to much to keep it up with the new Pc's? GPU is an obvious one. This built isnt to bad considering I built it Aug 09.

How much Vcore are you using? Max temps hitting 80 is okay if your vcore is high.

Ok. Any Fine Tunings to my oc? Maybe i will try intel Burn.

Yeah I was thinking maybe even of getting a
64 GB SSD.
That way I have my 64gb for windows 7 /photoshop etc

Then the 300 gb velociraptor will be my apps/games directories.

Then the 1tb drive will be music, downloads, photos, videos etc

Any other advice on my oc? I might bump a few things down to get lower temps.

I think really to keep my pc current If i get the SSD and a 580 gpu I will be golden for awhile.

Also if i go SSD. Might as well get a 120gb. I hear intels are great

I was on the same boat as you, went for SSD and new GPUs... will probably keep my 920 for a while and upgrade if Bulldozer is worth the hype.

This is exactly what I advise everyone to do. The OS boots much quicker, games load quicker than when in a normal HDD, and you have good storage capacity. I think this is the perfect setup. Only other thing I'd upgrade is to get another GTX 285, but that's not too important.
