Gonna be a knockout fight with only one winner at the end.....me, lol
yeah, sometimes it dipped down to like 25% usage for me aswell in Crysis Warhead.

He made the same post in the Intel forum, careful of where this will go.

Where did I say "every game uses 6+ cores."?

They dont. But his screen shot also shows that no individual core is running at 100%, the load it fairly evenly spread.

You can max SC2 out easy with a 5850 and a 3.6GHz quad core. I know, I've done it with very playable frame rates. May see if I still have SC2 around here.

It is pretty close on his 6th core. I would definitely call that a bottleneck on that instance. To bad he couldn't just go A higher res as that would help the situation with out having to buy new cpu.

Yeah, thats what windows does.

It will spread a thread over multiple cores.

Didn't you know that?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Quick couple pf points.

Core 6 - CPU5 is getting hammered while playing. It is pretty much maxed out at 100%.

The third run was done at 6048x1080 so I have raised the resolution to try and push GPU usage, which it did a bit but caused lock ups under zooming. VRAM over-run I think.

I did know this.

Instead of making smart ass comments and not answering my question, why not try helping the OP, since that's what this thread is all about.

That Res should have pushed the cards to 99% load but it didn't. Also 1GB of Ram probably isn't going to be perfect for such a high res. The lock up couldn't be caused by either cards being slightly unstable could they?

Ya typically you are better to have 2gig gpu ram to push that res. Although, I think there might be something else going on. We are not seeing the whole picture here I think. I know thuban is not that great sometimes but at the res even with low vram it should still have kicked those GPU's to 99%
