I ripped my dvd and encoded it using mp4/avc. The original file.vob is 1gb, but the encoded file is 2.19gb with slightly lower quality. I thought h.264 is the best file format for high quality and high compression ratio. How come my file is even larger than the original and lower quality? What do manufacturers use to fit high quality/small video on dvd? At least the encoded video should be the same size as the original. What software can I use to encode high quality/small video file? I am currently using avs video converter.
