Affordable headset with notable mic quality

I really don't know where to start when it comes to audio equipment. Could any of you recommend what I put in the title?

... and I mean really affordable. Like... £15-£25. I've had a look at some Plantronics headsets e.g. the 367, 377 and 655 but the mic quality of the 300 series isn't really what I'm looking for and I keep hearing that USB headsets aren't that good (even though I do like the quality of the mic on the 655).

I require your aid, o ye mighty Gods of the audio forum.

The Creative Fatal1ty headset goes on sale a lot on Newegg. I'm not really sure about the mic quality though.

And do you really need a headset?

Thanks, but it's not really what I'm looking for, Simca. I wanna avoid getting a desk mic if possible.

There are mics that clip onto headphones such as the Zalman. There are some that clip on your shirt as well.

If you wanted quality in both areas that would be the suggestion.

If you're looking for something simple and in one piece the Plantronics have good things said about them for their price.

Hey Bikkit. I was in the same boat as you but I happened to find one that was perfect for my tastes.

Turtle Beach Ear Force X11

At first I was skeptical since it is one of the "lower" end Turtle Beach products, but I had a gift card and gave it a shot. So far it has been incredible. Sound quality is awesome and the mic quality is top notch as well (I use Mumble 24/7). I've recommended this to lots of my friends and so far they all love it as well. I bought it for my Xbox 360 since my mic headset broke, but it's been so good I use it with my PC more ofter than the Box.

Shoot me a PM and I'll send you over a sound file using my mic with Windows Sound Recorder for you to judge the quality yourself.

The Plantronics 367 is doing fine for me. I had to boost the mic level a bit, but it is fine.

Could you recommend any specific mics to go with the Koss headphones you suggested?

They're a little bit out of my price range...

Fine is fine, I just wanna find out if there's anything better for the same price range.

Zalman mic
I'm linking it from Amazon because it's easier. It's cheaper elsewhere(~$7)
