GTX 260, everything else old, what should I get?

Hey all, I'm a new guy. So because of me being foolish back in '09 I'm stuck with a very unbalanced build and I'm planning on balancing it. Seriously considering to upgrade my mobo, RAM and CPU. Thinking of a mid-range Sandy Bridge, 2x2 gigs in case I want to upgrade to 8 later and a low-end H67/P67 ASUS board (brand loyalty). Either my RAM or board give me blue screens now and then, and I'm experiencing a serious CPU bottleneck when I game. SO. What would you guys recommend? I was thinking of:

i5-2400 because of price/performance

and

I'm pretty much settled on the memory, but what do you think of the board and CPU choice? The CPU should go well with the GTX 260 (ASUS TOP), and the mobo doesn't have to have any fancy features that I probably won't need. Wi-Fi would be cool though.

OH, and if there's a more convenient place to order from, do share. I live in Bulgaria and electronics are overpriced here. It would be a first time online purchase if I do end up ordering them.

The CPU and board will pair up nicely.
Sandy Bridge isn't much faster then anything currently out until you take advantage of the amazing potential of the clock speed, so get a good CPU cooler.

For a GPU your 260 is the last thing you need to upgrade but if and when you do I suggest a GTX 1GB 460.

Found an even cheaper mobo that should serve me well:

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=44077

I'm not so sure about it fitting my case and PSU though. Will have to look into that. By the way, is SATA II backwards compatible? I'm sure my HDDs are pretty old as well...

Yes SATA II is backwards compatible.

Are you extremely tight on budget? Because its almost silly to get a Sandy Bridge setup and not overclock it. But that would require a P67 board, and an i5 2500k at minimum to be able to pass 4.0GHz (which they can all do).

I'm not planning to overclock, no. I know this forum's called Overclock.net, but I'm no serious gamer. I just want my rig to withstand minimum hardware requirements for games until about late 2013, since by getting a Wii I skipped on this console generation.

One more thing: I'm not going to properly game (i. e. stress the fan) until about August. Would it be good to wait for Bulldozer and get the quad-core or take advantage of SB price drop, or should I grab them now?

I'd look for sales and other discounts, and keep an eye out for the 2500k over the 2400. I know you don't plan to overclock, but it's nice to have the option (which the non k-series chips do not have).
Seriously, it's a waste of the P67 board to buy a non-clocking chip, plus it's only twenty or thirty quid extra now, verses a whole heap later on to buy a new chip.

Yes this is cheaper but i think you would be best spending you money on a p67 mobo and 2500k cpu, Ok you say you don't want to overclock but this way you can guarantee your pc will still be more than strong enough to play the latest titles well into 2014-15, instead of upgrading again in 2yrs time
