What to do now after USPS lost shipment?

Thread Starter
I sold a set headphones a few weeks ago, and the buyer paid, everything went smoothly. But when I got the item to the post office off to ship it, the buyer hasnt got the item yet after 2 weeks.

I honestly dont know what to do because of no tracking number (stupid on my part) and there was no insurance.

However, I never had this issue in the last 5 years of selling online, my feedback here is postive, and same with 290 feedbacks on ebay.
I always check 2 times to make sure the address he gives is the same as on the package (i printed the address and taped it).

What should I do now?

edit: if it matters, he doesnt have any feedback on here.

No insurance, no tracking = you're screwed.

Suck it up and refund the buyer.

Never ever ship anything without tracking at least.

This. Another thing is, without tracking and and insurance when the buyer gets the item they can just say they never received the item.

You always want to get tracking, insurance, and proof of the buyer receiving the item.

It happens, and when it does that's when you always say "Should have gotten the stupid tracking".

Sorry bro. Better luck next time.

maybe if the buyer is a good person, they will send the money back to you if the item does get to him/her.

I know sometimes shipping takes longer than expected (especialy around holidays, with easter just passed by) and it can be a scary thing.

lesson learned, always get tracking.

unfourtunately tracking is really expensive here in canada

Yeah thank god. Lesson learned, track is a plus. Take the word of advice current, new and long time sellers, get track numbers! Its only for a few cents more and you have a better peace of mind!

So everything worked out in the end? That is great news.

I always ship my items with insurance and tracking if it is an expensive item. It gives you piece of mind to know that you are not liable.
