Either, they both are going to be quieter than majority of your case fans and if you mount them using a soft mount system (like a foam pad) you won't be able to hear them.

Both are great pumps, but if you go for a 355, you want to look at an after market top to increase performance.

655s are slightly quieter than 355s, but each pump is designed for a different type of water loop. 655s are best for low restriction and 355s are best for high restriction

well, with in reason yes. All but the more exodic loops like the stallion likes to build with 18 radiators and 290 fans

The 655 flows more liquid but the 355 has more head pressure (meaning it has stronger push to force liquid through very restrictive blocks). That said, majority of loops with modern blocks, rads, and res are not restrictive enough unless you have a lot of blocks for it to matter.

Another thing to note, the 355 is smaller than the 655.

then my loop should be fine with the dual 355

You must be building one heck of a loop as that will be pushing a ton of water and way way overkill for 95% of the loops out there. The only reason to use dual is if you are hyper paranoid about one of them failing or you really have a crazy loop.

Martin did a bunch of testing and once you break 1GPM the loop doesn't really cool much better but less than 1GPM and performance degrades quickly. His recommendation was just make sure your pushing more than 1GPM and you are good. A single 355 will easily do that unless you really have a ton of restrictive blocks.

Good call, if your only running a CPU and single GPU the extra thermal dump from the second pump would probably out weight any advantage from the increased flow. Unrestricted that 355 will flow 2gpm (655 does 5.3 gpm) so you should be fine.
