Do not exceed 1.45v

Download "real temp" it is a temperature monitoring tool for your cpu so you can make sure it is not overheating stay below 80c

Also download "prime 95" it is a cpu stress tool for checking overclock stability. Once you have overclocked your cpu, Use this tool to make sure it is stable and temps are below 80c

Once again we dont want you frying your chip and anything over 1.45v is baaaaaad
1.45v is intel's max recommended for 24/7 usage. but you can go well over that if you just want clock speed.

[QUOTE=srsparky32;13357960]1.45v is intel's max recommended for 24/7 usage. but you can go well over that if you just want clock speed.

You probably shouldn't tell someone that was asking if 3v was too much voltage that he can go "well over". For someone new to overclocking I would recommend to NEVER GO ABOVE THE MAX SPECS OF YOUR HARDWARE. However, once you really have a good understanding of what you're doing THEN you can push things well beyond what they're designed to handle
