@killerk the link u provided to that thread also shows a chart with push and push/pull config...whats the difference????

it depends on the thickness (viscosity) of the paste.

with MX-4 i use a grain of rice size with a little bit each side, so it looks like a +
then once cooler is pushed down, i give it a little twist of about 20 degrees and back again, without lifting it.

i also have AC-Diamond24 and it is REALLY thick, with this i use a big drop, the size of a pea, that way when you push down the cooler, it spreads out

push/pull can drop your temps more than just 1 fan push or pulling.
on my cooler its designed for it.

you need to get a high cfm fan (pressure) as pushing air through a cooler is much harder than pushing air around a case.
this really should be in the air cooling forum, you may get better advice

just a while back i tested my cpu with linx and prime and found it stable with max temp being 85(stock cooler)...

and in games it barely went over 72 except for gta 4 which could take my cpu upto 78 sometimes....

but yesterday i played assassins crred brotherhood for just 1 hour and my cpu temp was 77
usually before, it always hovered around 68-69 degrees in assassins creed brotherhood....

and today i played fallout new vegas for 2 hours and again i found my cpu temp around 87 degrees
and usually my cpu never went over 72 in this game ever...even after 4 hours of playing....

and so just to be sure i ran linx and prime again today and found my temps crossing 95 degrees mark

im using core temp for noting the temps...

everything in my pc is at stock except graphic card....
my case is custom modded and has sufficient airflow....

so what could be the reason for sudden temp increase....
and the weather here also has not changed much in the last month.....

pls help!!!!

EDIT: ambients r around 30-35 max.....at night it dips into higher 20's.....
bad thermalcompound.
replace it
Or check your mounting.

hey,
well...i'm from India too...I can say that the heat gets pretty nasty here...Though it's been raining in Bangalore my H50 is'nt performing up to its mark...

And about the Hyper212+ I dont think it will perform as good as it has been reviewed because of the hot weather here....My H50 also runs hotter than the reviews showed...a lot hotter...
Cheers.
