The pc should be able to handle heavy photoshop duties. It will not be used for gaming.

What he is looking for:

1. Low noise
2. Fast disk speed
3. pref. +16gb ram

budget around 3000 dollars

Is he a photographer? Is so then an IPS monitor is a must. Let me know if he needs EXACT color replication and I will make a build around that.

3000 dollars? if you build anything around that prices its going to be well over the top for photoshop.. It's not as intensive as people make out these days

Intel i7 2600k
Asus p8p67 pro 1155 motherboard
G-skill ripjaws x 1600mhz memory 4-16gb
650-750w corsair psu
Take your pick from gpu's but i recommend the ati 6950 bang for buck or if you plan on doing gaming and want something faster then either an ati 6970 or nvidia gtx 580.

The build is highly dependent upon if he needs an IPS. Then I would recommend a 1k-1.5k monitor and a system around that.

Hi - Just spoke with him

Som additional info:

1. He is a photografer
2. He already has a screen he is happy with
3. He plans on moderate oc'ing
4. sata III and usb 3.0 is wanted

I was thinking a setup that includes some SSD's in raid 0 or something.... what do you think

Well what monitor doe he have?

If it is just computer then this would be great.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/M...px?ID=16012265

If he wants raid 0 SSDs he would need to buy another at a different store. As newegg has a 1 240GB vertex 3 per customer limit. But with two in raid 0 speeds are nuts.

EDIT: Forgot HDD, Samsung 1TB f3 is great. Or get a few WD Green drives for storage.
