The problem with doing that is that the mouse feet are so thin on that mouse that your tape will start scratching against whatever surface you're using it on. You can fix that by throwing on a new set of feet.
My Deathadder can't track on my desk anymore after doing these mods myself, but it still tracks flawlessly on my mouse pad (puretrak talent) so I have no complaints about that.
My only issue after all that is that it's a little butt-heavy. 110g overall and a lot of that weight goes right under my palm which makes it not-as-enjoyable (compared to, say, the IME 3.0) to pick up and move and pick up and move. But still, none of these issues are related to the Deathadder's sensor, which is flawless. I can list a couple annoying things about the 9500 that the G500 uses and the 3080 that the MX518 uses.
They claim that the Valor is more than 30 grams less than the Deathadder (I don't believe it). They also claim that it's about the size of a WMO (smaller) which I might prefer. And the Valor uses a wannabe version of the Deathadders 3888 sensor (the 3090). So as long as Puretrak didn't **** up the firmware or something (like Cooler Master did with the CM Spawn), the Valor will be superior in every way. Never mind that it comes with a free puretrak talent.
yes cpi = dpi. You can't change your mouses cpi with the control panel, but you can use the control panel to apply a multiplier to it. It's not recommended though.
Why in the world would I put scotch tape on the sensor? And the talent with the mouse though, sounds like a good deal but the mouse doesn't glow as much as a razer mouse D:I guess that's not necessary though xp And having to use external programs to change DPI doesn't sound fun... would I at least be able to change it between the 500/1000/2000/3500 settings with their software?
And I've been thinking about the death adder but still a little iffy about it I guess... All the logitech mouses are ugly as hell they look really lame and it almost makes them not even worth considering to me, but I appreciate the comments none the lessEdited by rivaldog - 5/1/11 at 5:29pm
